Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery is a procedure designed to remove the bags and the folds of the eyelid and in some case reposition the eyebrow as it tends to sag. The result is a more youthful overall appearance, the eyes appear more alert and for some patients even a better vision.
Blepharoplasty corrects dropping eyelids and excessive flesh especially on the formation of localized accumulations in the lower section of the eyelids (baggy eyes) due to a congenital condition or external agents and ageing.
Dr. Cataldo will perform blepharoplasty on the upper eyelid and/or lower eyelid: in the first case, the incision will be made along the creases of the eyelid, invisible from the outset. Eyelids heal remarkably quickly and the desired effect is noticeable just a few days after surgery. The lower eyelid surgery, also performed under local anesthesia, is an invisible incision made along the lashline.
Dr. Cataldo uses two possible techniques, both perfectly mastered. The first involves the rear part of the muscle and the second the front. Excess fat, skin or hernias, are carefully removed to obtain the desired shape of the eyelid.
Dr. Cataldo's key to success is his expert and nimble hand combined with long experience in the field of reconstructive surgery.
The second technique is an incision made internally, only in cases where it is not necessary to remove excess skin.
His many years of collaboration in the field of facial reconstructive surgery shared with Prof. Servant and in-depth studies on the anatomical region, is the outcome to performing blepharoplasty with serenity and utmost precision.
