Skin characteristics, particularly its elasticity are very important in determining the suitability of a candidate for surgery: their particular techniques enable Cataldo-Servant to treat and correct even the most "difficult" of cases and skins.

During your first consultation Dr. Cataldo will discuss your expectations and demands: establishing a relationship of trust between you and your surgeon is vital before deciding to undergo a facelift. Your face will be analyzed to assess its shape, proportions, dimensions, any possible deformities and skin conditions, also a manual examination to determine the best way of achieving the results desired. 

Following the interview and manipulation, Dr. Cataldo will be able to decide if lifting is beneficial in terms of improving your aesthetics, functionality and psychological needs. In the case of a positive evaluation, you will be photographed simulating surgery showing your new face: photographs will be taken from different angles -left and right profiles, obliquely, front on, and neck.

At the end of the consultation with all this information in hand, Dr. Cataldo will give you a report detailing the phases before and after surgery and a full quote. In the preoperative phase two visits with the surgeon will be required plus a meeting with the anesthesiologist. Blood tests, an electrocardiogram, a chest X-ray and other examinations will be prescribed.

It is absolutely forbidden to smoke in the two months preceding the intervention and it is highly recommended not to take aspirin.

You must not eat or drink after midnight prior to the day of surgery.

The cervico-facial face lift performed exclusively either by Dr. Cataldo or Prof. Servant has a duration of one and a half, to three hours.

In most cases surgery is performed under general anesthesia, but in some specific cases Dr Cataldo's prefers local sedation is better - you will be awake, but no pain will be felt. Incisions are made inside and behind the ears, hidden areas that make them invisible.

Once the skin has been raised, the next step is the muscles of the neck, bearing its anatomical state to then proceed with extreme care to correct any defects;  finally surplus skin will be pulled. A drainage tube is inserted just behind the ear to drain fluid thus speeding up and reduce any swelling. Stitches will be removed 5 days after surgery.

During the postoperative phase, the drainage will be removed and the dressing changed.  Usually no pain is felt in this procedure, but you may feel some discomfort, in this case you will be an analgesic.
