Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is an aesthetic surgery procedure designed to increase the size of the breasts through the insertion of breast implants. Mastoplasty increases the size of the breast, shape, as well as the volume.
Dr. Cataldo uses cohesive silicone gel prostheses, perfectly tolerated by the body and reliable over time.
The prosthesis can be inserted in front or behind the chest muscle, depending on the shape of the breast and thorax: when the breast volume is big enough, he prefers to insert the prosthesis in front of the muscle. If, instead, the breasts are naturally small and the patient is particularly slim, sub-muscular implants are preferable as these produce the best aesthetic effect.
Following surgery it is advisable to wear a non-wired supportive bra day and night, and depending on the specific case, Dr. Cataldo will decide when their patient can resume normal activities or sport. Post-operative checkups, whether of x-ray nature or ultrasounds can be performed without the risk of damaging the implants.
Dr. Cataldo firmly recommends a checkup at least once a year, as well as a manual examination.
